I also took a series of neuromuscular therapy workshops during this time period to further my education on the treatment of acute and chronic injuries. These workshops were presented by the NMT Center based out of Florida. Judith Walker- Delaney was the Instructor. In 2000 I moved my business to Wyoming, MN to work with Pfieffer Chirpractic and was there until 2002. I did much of the same work at this clinic as I did at Drassal Chiropractic. I left the clinic because of a downturn in the business, (I think the terrorist attacks on 9/11/01 may have had something to do with it). I started working for Ramsey County Sheriff's Department to supplement my income in April of 2002. I worked there until February 2003 as a payroll/benefits clerk. I left there to pursue my business aspirations once again I had missed doing massage therapy and look forward to starting up my business again. The space I would like to lease for my massage therapy business is located in an office building just to the west of the new Joe's Sporting Goods Store on County Rd. B. The address is 5 East County Rd. B Suite #2. The space is 1500 sq /ft with 750 sq /ft on the upper level and 750 sq /ft on the lower level. Currently, there is a reception area with one treatment room on the upper level and a large common space with two closets for storage. On the lower level there is a kitchen, restroom, and a large meeting room, with storage underneath the stairway. In the future, I would like to change the space to accommodate 2 treatment rooms on the upper level and 2 treatment rooms on the lower level. I would also like to be able to have a staff of up to 8 part- time or 4 full- time therapists, or a combination of the two.. The space will be used for professional massage therapy, treating clients who present acute and/or chronic pain and/or injury with referrals from qualified health professionals (doctors, chiropractors, orthopedists, physical therapists, ect...). I will also provide professional massage therapy to people who would like to reduce stress and tension for the purpose of relaxation. I will be using neuromuscular therapy and myofascial release to treat trigger points and Swedish massage therapy for relaxation. Some stretching techniques will also be used to lengthen the tissue. All that I need for equipment is the massage table, which will be in the treatment room, and the massage chair which I will use in the common space on either the upper or lower level. I will be using Biotone creme during therapy and I will have fresh, clean linens for each client, which will be stored in the closet on the upper level. I will also have bolsters available to the client for use under the knees, to provide support for the low back. There will also be light background music in the office. TimeOut Massage Therapy plans to be a successful business in a professional setting, providing quality and ethical massage therapy. I have renewed my membership with the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals and have liability insurance through my membership.
