BMP Name: Illicit Discharge Training of City Staff <br />Unique ID: 3 -05 <br />NICM: #3 — Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination <br />of Little Can cic, <br />44 <br />COP1P1UNIN DRIDE <br />1953 - 200 <br />Description: <br />The City will coordinate training of appropriate public works staff to detect illicit discharges with <br />RWMWD. <br />Justification: <br />The City has older neighborhoods and businesses that may have been subject to lower building code <br />standards and thus may have direct connections to the MS4 system. Some of these businesses may <br />also have leaking pipes or other potential quality hazards that may impact the MS4. <br />Responsible Staff /Position: <br />Public Works Director 651.766.4049 <br />Measurable Goals: <br />1. Count the number of staff trained for illicit discharge detection and elimination. <br />Implementation Schedule: <br />1. Explore opportunity to coordinate with RWMWD for training by March 2004. <br />2. City staff responsible for inspection will be trained by March 2005. <br />Education Program/Public Outreach Component: <br />1. Audience or audiences: City staff. <br />2. Increased awareness: City staff will be informed on how to detect illicit discharges and the <br />impact they may have upon the receiving waters. <br />Annual Reporting Items: <br />1.
