Employees working four consecutive hours are allowed time to utilize the n arest <br />convenient restroom. Said time shall not exceed ten (10) minutes. <br />PERA and Social Security — Page 10 <br />This change is being proposed in order to eliminate the need to amend the <br />Personnel Policy each time there is a percentage /withholding change for PERA <br />payments. <br />PERA payments are made by the City and the employee in the amounts mandated <br />by the Public Employees Retirement Association. <br />ICMA -RC — Page 11 <br />- <br />This change is being proposed in order to eliminate the need to amend the <br />Personnel Policy each time the IRS changes deferred compensation maximums. <br />Employees may defer salary amounts up to the maximum allowed by IRS <br />regulations. <br />Employees may defer a maximum of 25 percent of total salary, or $7,500 per <br />year, whichever is less. <br />Insurance Benefits — Page 14 <br />Staff is proposing that when an employee terminates his /her employment or is on <br />leave of absence, the cost of insurance benefits such as health, opt -out, and life <br />insurance be paid by the City pro -rated based on the number of days the employee <br />worked in the month in question versus the total number of standard working days <br />in that same month. The previous policy is unclear as to how these matters should <br />be treated. It is felt that this language will result in consistent treatment of <br />employees. <br />When an em.lo ee terminates em.lo ment the cost of insurance benefits such as <br />health, opt -out, and life insurance shall be paid by the Citv on a pro -rated basis <br />based on the number of days the employee worked in the month in question <br />versus the total number of standard working days in that same month. <br />Employees on leave of absence (when vacation and sick leave have been <br />exhausted) would be responsible for payment of insurance benefits for any full <br />month that they are on leave.
