waste to a compost site as approved by the City. The Contractor shall <br />not mix other types of refuse or inorganic materials with the yard <br />waste or take any action so as to make the yard waste material <br />unacceptable to the operators of the compost site. <br />f. Notification. If any resident of the City places yard waste out for pickup <br />and the material is not taken by the Contractor, the Contractor shall <br />provide immediate written notification to the resident of reason(s) for <br />refusal to pick up the item. Notification must be left on the item(s) <br />in question. <br />g. <br />Education. It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to assist in the <br />education of residents on how to properly prepare yard waste. <br />Contractor will work with City staff on a quarterly basis to prepare <br />written materials for residents. <br />3. Recycling Recyelal le Collection Service. <br />a. Description. Recyclable collections service shall include the collection <br />of newsprint, magazines, #1 &2 plastics, junk mail, corrugated <br />cardboard, ledger paper, metal food cans, aluminum, clear glass, and <br />colored glass from residential dwelling units within the City of Little <br />Canada. Cost for this service is described in Attachment "A." <br />b. Containers. All residential dwelling units who wish to participate in the <br />recycling program will be supplied recycling containers, provided by <br />the City, for the recyclable materials agreed upon by the City and <br />Contractor. <br />c. Two Sort System. Residents will be instructed to commingle two groups <br />of materials: (1) all food and beverage containers, including glass, <br />metal and plastic bottles /jugs; and (2) all paper fiber products, <br />ncluding newspapers, magazines, mixed mail, catalogs, phone books <br />and corrugated cardboard. The Contractor shall not make any <br />changes to this "two -sort" collection /processing system without <br />written approval of the City. Failure to receive City approval for any <br />such changes to the "two -sort collection /processing system prior to <br />implementation for City collections or material processing shall be <br />considered by the City as a breach of this Agreement subject to <br />termination. <br />d.
