targeted at youth. They also mentioned that their use of these facilities would be
minimal as compared to their overall potential.
Services to be Offered by CCC:
The attached sheet entitled "Community Impact ", contains a listing of programs to be
offered. Of those listed, only day care, after school latchkey, and auto repair for single
moms are not currently offered.
They further explained a study they commissioned that looked at the needs of our area
within a 5 -mile radius of this site. The top three needs emphasized:
1. Sports /camping
2. Cultural Programs (music, drama, etc.)
3. Marriage Enrichment
A cooperative arrangement with St. John's Parish for the provision of services was also
mentioned as a mechanism to increase community benefit,
Facility Plans:
The attached diagram entitled "Campus of Christ Community Church" is not a final plan.
Based on our discussions, development would proceed as follows:
1st Phase — Renovate the former Knox store area (45,000 sq. ft.) into
church, classrooms, meeting rooms, and offices. This would take
place ASAP.
2nd Phase — Upgrade the parking lot, remove the outbuildings,
add /renovate recreation building, add green space. The general time
line would be within the next three years. They also indicated a
willingness to remove the outbuildings sooner if that would meet the
City's needs.
3rd Phase — Construct future auditorium, expand parking (this is depicted
on diagram in athletic field area), develop south end of parcel into
ball /soccer fields.
Page 7
