According to the Ordinance, not more than 15 percent of the building silhouette may be <br />devoted to wall signage. The total wall area of the north and west sides of the subject <br />building is 2,608 square feet resulting in a maximum wall signage allowance of 391 <br />square feet. <br />As shown below, a total of 2661 square feet of wall signage has been proposed which <br />satisfies the maximum area requirements of the Ordinance. <br />Note: "Rocco's Pizza roof sign not included in area calculation <br />Sign Details. Details regarding the proposed wall signage (i.e. illumination, lettering <br />style etc.) have not been provided. <br />Roof Sian. As shown on the submitted building elevations, a 48 square foot (6' x'8') <br />"Rocco's Pizza" roof sign presently exists on the building. Because such sign type is no <br />longer allowed by the Ordinance, it is believed to be legally nonconforming and may <br />continue to exist subject provided it is found to be in good condition and not to be <br />endangering to the public health, safety, and general welfare. <br />The Ordinance further states that roof signs shall be considered freestanding signs and <br />shall be evaluated against the performance standards for such signs. For a 5,852 <br />square foot building, a freestanding sign up to 135 square feet in area and 18 feet in <br />height is allowed.
