COMPATIBILITY
1. As I stated in the application, this garage will house our things such as decorations,
camping/yard equipment, and miscellaneous household items not used on a daily
basis. Access in the winter will be minimal because there is no need.
2. I am not going to use hardboard siding just to tear it off. As I stated after
completion of the garage, the house will be sided and trimmed to match. If it is not
done this year it will be in the spring. This is because I had hip replacement
surgery on 03/05/01, experienced serious complications, and just found out today,
the hip will have to come out and be redone I am a little behind in schedule.
DEVELOPMENT ALTERNATIVES
1. We need and still desire the size garage we originally proposed.
RECOMMENDATIONS
1. This is a difficult question to answer because what this company is recommending
does not make sense. If I build a garage and put it another 6 feet behind the
existing, how do I get in it?
2. As I stated previously the accessory building would not match the house at first,
however, the house will match the accessory building within a reasonable amount
of time. Also if the plans were reviewed more closely you could see that on the
north side of our lot, it is all pine trees that block your view and on the south side
there is a huge pine so you will barely see the new structure from the street.
In summary, we are responsible homeowners that feel this addition would only enhance
our property, not detract from it. We've spoke with several neighbors who did not
express any objections. We sincerely hope the Little Canada City Council would
reconsider this CUP and grant us this opportunity.
Thank you,
Al Mentes
Cindy Mentes
Page 10
