In case the installation is to be upon a surfaced street, the following shall apply: <br />c. <br />d. <br />There shall be a fee of Seventy Dollars (570.00) for restoration of typical road mix <br />bituminous street, in addition to the charge in a. above, and for rest ration f a higher <br />type street, such fee as well be met by the City Engineer; all back 611 materials shall <br />be mechanically compacted in 12" layers t the density of the adjacent material in the <br />specifications to the existing street grade. <br />For larger connections, the am unt to be charged shall be fixed by the City Engineer <br />based upon the estimated cost of installing the service. <br />The City shall install, or have installed, all service connections from the water main <br />is started. <br />(3) For turning on water or turning off water, a service charge as established by City <br />Council resolution of Ten Dollars (510.00) will be made. The amount of this charge will be based <br />on when the turn on/off occurs (during or after working hours). If turned n or ff after working <br />hours, the charge shall be Forty five Dollars (315.00). <br />1601.220. DAMAGE TO SHUT OFF BOX. Before any grading or excavation is started the <br />water shut off box (curb stop) shall be located and checked for damage by the Utilities Public Works <br />Department at the time connection permit is issued. If the shut off box cannot be located or is found <br />bent or in a damaged condition, the Plumbing City Inspector is to be called at once. The contractor <br />assumes all responsibility for damage to shut off box unless the Utilities Public Works Department <br />certified that damage existed before excavation or grading started. <br />1601.230. TIME FOR CONNECTIONS. If from any cause, the plumber or contractor <br />laying the service pipe should fail to have the connection made at the time specified in his <br />application, notice must be given the Utilities Public Works Department fixing another day on which <br />he wishes to make connection. The notice must be given at least two (2) days previous to the <br />excavation for laying of the service pipe, and the connection must be made before 4:30 p.m. except <br />in special cases and then the work shall be done only upon a written order from the Utilities <br />Department. <br />1601.240. PROPERTY ASSESSMENTS. The permit fee for water main tapping shall be <br />paid for each connection in the amount specified in Section 1601.210. In addition thereto, before <br />any permit shall be issued, the following conditions shall be complied with: <br />(1) No permit shall be issued to tap or connect with any water main of the City directly <br />or indirectly from any lot or tract of land unless: <br />Page 82 <br />
