In addition to the parking needs of our faculty and staff members, daily 8:00 A.M. Mass attendees, parents who drop off children as well as over- flow parking from the Credit Union parking lot, we are extremely limited in our parking capacity. Because of the nature of a school and church, we have 5 weekend Masses that require overflow on- street parking, Faith Formation classes on Mondays and Wednesdays, retreats, dances and other special events such as the annual Parish Festival that are well attended and require additional park- ing. In addition to these events, there are many funerals, multiple meeting nights, church gatherings, holy days and holidays such as Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Thanksgiving, Easter and Ash Wednesday that require additional parking. Often times, parking problems are resolved by parking on unpaved ground, but when we host events that have tents, rides and games the space is even more limited. Also, on a day -to -day basis, parking on unpaved areas takes much needed space away from the gym classes as well as the playground space. Saint John's is in the process of planning for a new parish facility that will hopefully begin construction in the next few months. The plan for this facility includes additional parking which will resolve the problem we are facing now. As evidenced by the construction next to the Credit Union, the construc- tion process will temporarily make parking matters even worse. Until we build our new facility com- plete with adequate parking, we would greatly appreciate the removal of the "No Parking" signs on McMenemy Street from Little Canada Road to Rose Lane.
