1.02 Metro Transit. "Metro Transit" means the organizational unit of the Council which operates the Council's regular route, public transit service in the seven -county metropolitan area. 1.03 Project Manager. "Project Manager" means the person(s) designated by each of the parties for purposes of administration of this agreement as authorized to resolve questions that arise or clarification needed during the course of this agreement. The Council's Project Manager is Chris Weyer. The City's Project Manager is Joel Hanson. 1.04 Interim Rice Street and Little Canada Transit Hub Project. "Interim Rice Street and Little Canada Transit Hub Project" or "Project" refers to all activities for the design, construction, and finishing of the Interim Rice Street and Little Canada Transit Hub improvements. 1.05 Third Party Contractor. "Third Party Contractor" or "Contractor" means persons or businesses under contract to the City to perform work related to the Project, including construction and construction management activities. II. PURPOSE OF AGREEMENT The Interim Rice Street and Little Canada Transit Hub is a new public transit facility which will assist in implementing the Council's regional transit service redesign by permitting creation of a timed transfer route system as part of restructuring regional transit services in the northeast suburbs of Saint Paul. It will be located in Little Canada along First Bank Drive between Middle Street and Market Place Drive. This Project will enable the Council to improve suburb -to- suburb and reverse commute service in the Saint Paul Northeast Corridor. The Project is intended to accommodate the increased transit activity in the area until a permanent facility can be built. The Council will pay for all costs to design and construct this Project, including street and facility improvements. Page 21
