MAYOR
Michael I. Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada. MN 55117 -1600 ADMINISTRATOR
(651) 484 -2177 / FAX: (651) 484 -4538 Joel R. Hanson
Email: cityhali @ci.little- canada.mn.us
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Fahey and Members of the City Council
FROM: Joel R. Hanson, City Administrator
DATE: July 7, 2000
RE: Petition to Lower Speed Limit on Centerville Road Near Allen Ave.
Attached is a petition from the Board of Directors of the Pitrina Park Terrace
Homeowners Association requesting that the speed limit on Centerville Road near the
intersection of Allen Avenue be lowered to 35 miles per hour. As you may recall, a
couple of years ago, the County lowered the speed limit on Centerville Road from Little
Canada Road to Pioneer Park from 40 mph to 35 mph. At that time, the County was
informed that Pitrina Park would be developed in the near future. The decision was not
to extend the reduced speed area further north.
However, given that Pitrina Park is fully developed and the residents of that area are
petitioning for the reduced speed limit, it is staffs recommendation that the petition be
forwarded to the County for consideration.
Page 11
