Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />June 9, 2000 <br />Page Two <br />We have worked with Palda & Sons, Inc on a similar project in Falcon Heights in 1999 which <br />was successfully completed. Last year, they successfully completed the drainage swale project <br />located at Maple Leaf Court within the City. We have found their work to have met all <br />specifications and to be of good quality. We recommend award of the Little Canada Road <br />Improvements project to Palda & Sons, Inc., as the lowest responsible bidder. <br />The City Council can award of the project based on a combination of the base bid and any <br />alternate or the base bid minus the amenities with no alternate. We have tried to contact Larry <br />Feldhahn with Ramsey County to determine if the project can be awarded prior to finalization of <br />the Ramsey County Cooperative Agreement regarding project funding. He is on vacation and <br />unavailable until Monday, June 12, 2000.
