Hanson <br />Email: cityhall@cilittle-canada.mn.us <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Mayor Fahey & Members of the City Council <br />FROM: Joel Hanson, City Administrator <br />DATE: February 18, 2000 <br />RE: Little Canada Road Improvement <br />Attached are two memos from the City engineer discussing the alignment issues relative to the <br />intersection of Rice Street and Little Canada Road. I have also contacted Michael Schroeder of <br />Hoisington Koegler to have him prepare a sketch of landscape treatments for this intersection <br />based on the final design that is selected. (This information is not yet available.) <br />Joe Vitale also contacted me and indicated based upon discussions he had with Terry Maurer, a <br />workable solution appears likely. However, he wanted to have further conversations on this <br />matter in approximately 10 days when he returns to town. <br />It would be my recommendation that we proceed with the alignment as initially proposed by the <br />City Engineer in order to minimize right -of -way impacts on both the north and south side of the <br />roadway. The issues that would need to be decided would involve the following: <br />♦ The need to install a concrete median at Rice and Little Canada Road. <br />• Landscape treatments for this intersection. (Report pending from Michael Schroeder.) <br />If there are other issues that the Council feels exist regarding this matter, I would ask that they <br />please be identified at this meeting so that we can ensure they are resolved in a timely fashion.
