MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 8, 2012 <br />The City Administrator stated that he would draft an article for the next <br />newsletter and submit to the Council for their review and comment. <br />ORDER The City Administrator requested that the Council order the abatement of <br />ABATEMENT a nuisance at 2894 Vanderbie Road should the property owner not clean <br />OF up the property by the August 13, 2012 deadline imposed. The <br />NUISANCE — Administrator noted that the City has dealt with code enforcement issues <br />2894 on this property in the past, and the property has been an on -going concern <br />VANDERBIE for the neighborhood. Blesener asked if the property owner has made any <br />effort to clean up the current nuisance since receiving notice from the <br />City. The Administrator replied that no clean -up efforts have been made <br />at this time. <br />Keis noted a recent newspaper article relative to the administration costs <br />that cities are charging for nuisance abatements. The Administrator <br />reported that the City does charge administrative costs. He also indicated <br />that the City obtains prices for nuisance abatement clean -ups in an effort <br />to handle the clean -up in a responsible manner. <br />Mr. McGraw introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2012 -8 -137 — AUTHORIZING THE ABATEMENT <br />OF NUISANCE AT 2894 VANDERBIE ROAD AS RECOMMENDED <br />BY THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR IN HIS REPORT DATED <br />AUGUST 1, 2012 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />ON -SALE The City Clerk reported that Daubers Cafe has made application for an <br />3.2 LIQUOR On -Sale 3.2 Liquor License to sell 3.2 beer and 3.2 wine coolers at both <br />LICENSE - the cafe and from the bingo hall concession stand at the Market Place <br />DAUBERS Shopping Center. McGraw asked if liquor was sold for consumption at <br />CAFE other bingo halls. The Clerk noted that 3.2 liquor licenses are issued by <br />the City, and it is the Council's discretion whether or not to issue the <br />license. <br />The Clerk noted that application materials are in order, however, the <br />Sheriff's Department Background Check and Certificate of Liquor <br />Liability Insurance are pending. <br />Mr. Montour introduced the following resolution and moves its adoption: <br />4 <br />
