Mayor Michael Fahey
and Little Canada City Council
July 7, 1999
Page Two
As we indicated in our previous letter to you, the Klidzejs properties are a beautiful area. We
have worked very hard to make improvements, and we would hate to see them demolished for the
sake of more blacktop.
We are hoping that you will not make a "blind" decision based strictly on paper diagrams.
Rather, we invite you to come out to the Klidzejs properties and see what the area actually looks
like in real life. We hope that the Little Canada City Council will be good stewards of the land to
which you are entrusted.
We haven't yet conducted an official or comprehensive survey of neighborhood attitudes toward
the construction of a new street. However, seven neighboring households were consulted
informally and they were unanimous in their opposition to a new street for this neighborhood.
We believe that you would not have public support to build another road out here.
We apologize if we have aggravated any of you by objecting to your plan to build a road. The
population here has changed since Leopolds and Tekla made their agreement with the City of
Little Canada. Tekla died this past January. Angie got married in 1991 and Gunar moved in.
Our son Stefan was bom in 1992. We (Angie, Gunar, and Stefan) were never participants in
Leopolds' agreement with you that no one would ever object to the construction of a new road on
the easement.
To reiterate, we feel that construction of a new road on the easement is unnecessary. The
Mitchell property can be developed to include lots with driveways leading directly to Twin Lake
Road or Twin Lake Trail. We invite you to come out and look over the Klidzejs properties before
you make the fmal decision to build a road on the easement.
If you have questions, please contact us. Our home phone is (651) 481 -9085 and Angie's
daytime work number is (612) 624 -1129. Thank you for your consideration.
Respectfully,
Angie (Mary Angela)
lidzejs Gunar Bruvelis Stei`auBruvelis
PAGE 158
