Bonner <br />Malkerson Gilliland Martin LLP <br />901 Marquette Avenue Suite 1500 <br />Minneapolis, MN 55402 -3205 <br />RE: North Star Estates Mobile Home Park <br />Dear Mr. Bonner: <br />I am writing you because I understand no response has been received to recent <br />correspondence requesting an updated storm shelter /evacuation plan for North Star <br />Estates Mobile Home Park. Staff will be recommending the rejection of your current <br />plan that was filed in 1989 given that this document is no longer applicable (the Ramsey <br />County Garage site is no longer available for use as a shelter). Because of the distance <br />from North Star Estates to the Little Canada Old Fire Hall, there is concern that this is not <br />a reasonable alternative when a shelter is needed. <br />Our Emergency Management Director feels that North Star Estates should construct <br />shelters within the park. This is occurring in a number of neighboring communities in <br />similar situations. <br />This item will be discussed at the City Council meeting on Wednesday, November 10, <br />1999.
