MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
DECEMBER 17, 1998
RESOLUTION NO. 98 -12 -293 — ACCEPTING THE FEASIBILITY
REPORT AND CALLING A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER THE
IMPROVEMENT OF VIKING DRIVE FROM MCMENEMY ROAD
TO EDGERTON STREET BY STREET RECONSTRUCTION,
CONCRETE CURB AND GUTTER, CONCRETE DRIVEWAY
APRONS, WATER MAIN, AND STORM SEWER FOR TUESDAY,
JANUARY 19, 1999 AT 7:15P.M.
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Pedersen.
Ayes (5) Morelan, Pedersen, Fahey, LaValle, Scalze.
Nays (0). Fahey felt that the current policy should be applied unless there is
a compelling reason not to.
Scalze pointed out that concrete curb and gutter were installed along
Jackson/Old County Road C/Lakeshore even though there was 100%
opposition to this portion of the improvement. Scalze indicated that she
would have difficulty in eliminating concrete curb and gutter from the
improvement unless there were some drastically different circumstances.
The City Administrator pointed out that City staff does not recommend
eliminating concrete curb and gutter from the improvement. The
Administrator pointed out that the County typically installs bituminous
curb and gutter as part of its improvements. The City is recommending an
Page 51
