MINUTES <br />PALMEN <br />PROPERTY <br />DIVISION <br />ON MCMENEMY <br />MINUTES OF 'sat REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />JUNE 6, 1996 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of <br />the Parks & Recreation Commission of the City of Little <br />Canada, Minnesota was held on the 6th day of June, 1996 in <br />the Council Chambers of the City Hall located at 515 East <br />Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Chair Karen Johnson presided and called the meeting to order <br />at 7:45 p.m. and the following members of the Commission <br />were present at roll call: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: <br />Ms. Karen Johnson, Chair <br />Ms. Pat Ables <br />Ms. Colleen Doolittle <br />Mr. Jim Greger <br />Mr. Tom Holm <br />Mr. Troy Rajanen <br />MEMBER ABSENT: Mr. Howard Remerowski <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br />Mr. Jim Morelan, P & R Director <br />Mr. Bill Sanders, Park Consultant <br />Ms. Mary Granley, Recording Secretary <br />Ables moved that the minutes of the April 4, 1996 and <br />May 2, 1996 meetings be approved as read. <br />Motion seconded by Doolittle. <br />Motion carried 6 - 0. <br />Mary Kaye Voosen was present to represent Ron Palmen <br />for the requested lot split. <br />Sanders stated that the property is located north of Viking <br />Drive, between the new houses and the wetland. Sanders <br />asked if the intent is to build more homes in the area of <br />the lot split. Voosen replied she is Ron Palmen's sister - <br />in -law, and the intent is to keep the original home there <br />and Voosen will build a home. No other homes will be built <br />as a result of the lot split. <br />Sanders remarked that the Commission has always been <br />interested in preserving the wetland area in this location. <br />He expressed concern that there may be filling or <br />disturbance along the wetland edge. Sanders asked if any <br />filling has been done in the area. Voosen replied there has <br />not been. She remarked that the lot is 260 feet deep, and <br />the house would be set far away from the wetland edge. She <br />stated that the house would be setback 30 feet from the <br />Page 28 <br />
