Acquire and reserve sufficient park <br />and open space land to fulfill the <br />needs of the present and projected <br />future population of the community. <br />Undertake park and open space <br />development as residential <br />development demands. <br />18. Develop and improve parks and open <br />space to take maximum advantage of <br />natural community features. <br />19. Where necessary, screen, fence <br />and /or buffer park and open space <br />areas for the safety and protection of <br />the user. <br />20. Locate both neighborhood and <br />community scale recreational <br />facilities within safe and easy access <br />of users. <br />21. Ensure the provision of adequate <br />parking to serve major park and <br />recreational facilities. <br />22. Wherever possible, locate park <br />facilities in close proximity to schools <br />in order to conserve land and afford <br />maximum daytime utilization. <br />Expand joint -use efforts between the <br />City and school system. <br />SYSTEMS 12 <br />23. Maintain cooperative agreements with <br />the school district for provision of <br />recreational open space areas and <br />services. <br />24. Plan and develop park and open space <br />facilities in coordination with similar <br />services of surrounding communities <br />as well as the metropolitan area as a <br />whole. <br />25. Little Canada will continue to <br />coordinate with the other providers of <br />recreation services, including the <br />school district, the county, and <br />private providers in satisfying the <br />demand for such facilities in an <br />efficient way. <br />Administration <br />1. Annually review the Comprehensive <br />Plan on a formal basis to ensure that <br />it is current and reflective of the <br />community's interest and changing <br />needs. <br />2. Annually review the Zoning <br />Ordinance and related development <br />codes on a formal basis to ensure <br />maintenance of the most advanced <br />standards and provisions, and full <br />compliance with legislative <br />requirements. <br />3.
