creates a negative cost to the acquisition process. <br />Therefore, if we were to assume the cost at $12,500 and split it between the two parcels, $6,250 <br />would need to be deducted from the $21,000 figure noted above leaving $14,750. Keep in mind <br />we are obtaining more property than the two 20 foot strips, but our need for that property is <br />extremely minimal. <br />My recommendation at this time would be to offer $15,000 for the parcel offered by Mr. <br />Meemken with the understand this is done on a voluntary sale basis and the City would be <br />responsible for platting the property with the cooperation of the property owners. <br />It should also be noted that if a full appraisal of the offered property were to be done, the cost <br />would likely be higher, but may not approach the $1.50 for the entire piece due to substantial <br />wetland impact. I could not recommend a purchase at the $1.50 per square foot figure for the <br />entire parcel as the cost would be far too excessive given our limited need at this time. <br />I will discuss this concept with Mr. Meemken prior to Wednesday's meeting. If you have any <br />comments in the meantime, please let me know. <br />
