515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
(651) 484 -2177 / FAX: (651) 484 -4538
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Fahey and Members of the City Council
FROM: Joel Hanson, City Administrator
DATE: July 2, 1998
RE: FEMA Disaster Assistance Program
MAYOR
Michael 1. Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R Hanson
Attached is the resolution we need to adopt to participate in the FEMA Disaster
Assistance Program. This program will reimburse us 75% of the cost of tree removal
from the right -of -way, as well as for any damages associated with public property. It will
also reimburse us for overtime and equipment usage relative to the May 15`x' storm. We
are still putting together final numbers, but our total cost could approach $90,000. The
State of Minnesota will be reimbursing us an additional 15% at some time in the future
pending legislative action.
We also incurred additional damage with the storm of June 26th. Debris pickup is
proceeding. It may be possible this damage will be included in the program as well,
although that determination has not yet been made.
Page 112
