Mayor & City Council
August 7, 1998
Page 2
Dick Boss of Tierney's Liquor has asked me about the City's interest in purchasing their
business. He feels we should be pursuing this irrespective of any redevelopment as their
property will ultimately be necessary at some point in the future. I informed him that it would be
difficult for the City to consider purchasing a business without a redevelopment proposal to
consider. I have asked him to give us some time to see how the Cinemark proposal concludes
before we discuss that matter in greater detail.
Lastly, I have informed Ramsey County that we are ready to begin design of Little Canada Road
for reconstruction next year. Mr. Wise has informed me that the curb cuts he has shown are
essentially accurate. My discussions with the County will be based on the needs outlined by
Cinemark with the understanding that even if the Cinemark project does not go forward,
reconstruction will still occur next year.
JRH:kpv
cc: Harold's Shoe Repair
Little Canada Barber & Styling
Sherman Rutzik
Dick Boss
Kim Wise, Cinemark
Rusty Fifield, Ehlers & Associates
Page 58
