MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />MAY 7, 1998 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation <br />Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 7th day of May, 1998 <br />in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 East Little Canada Road in said <br />City. <br />Roger Christensen chaired and called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following <br />members of the Commission were present at roll call: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Mr. Roger Christensen <br />Mr. Matt Anderson <br />Ms. Muriel Bianchi <br />Ms. Ginger Sackett Glaser <br />Mrs. Karen Johnson <br />Ms. Kathleen Smith <br />Mr. Robert Schabacker <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Jim Morelan, Parks & Recreation Director <br />Mr. Bill Sanders, Park Consultant <br />Ms. Paula Schaefer, Recording Secretary <br />MINUTES Anderson recommended that the minutes of the April 2, 1998 meeting be approved as <br />presented. <br />Motion seconded by Bianchi. <br />Motion carried 7 - 0. <br />WELCOME TO Christensen welcomed Robert Schabacker as the new Commission Member and asked him <br />ROBERT to introduce himself and had everyone introduce themselves to him. Schabacker stated that <br />SCHABACKER he is married and has a daughter. He mentioned that he is a resident of Little Canada and is <br />a project manager for API Construction Company. He stated that he is also a Technical <br />Sergeant in the Air Force Reserve. He expressed that his reason for becoming a Commission <br />member was to get involved because his family likes to take advantage of the parks and he <br />hopes to help make a difference. <br />VIKING ESTATES The Director stated that the area in question is directly south of the Grand Pre Complex on <br />PARK CHARGE the comer of Viking and County Rd. B -2. He reported that it is in an area that has no adjacent <br />parkland and would recommend that the Commission go with a cash park charge. The <br />Director stated that the property was buildable. <br />Bianchi made a motion that the Commission opt for the cash park charge. <br />1 <br />Page 19 <br />
