Mayor & City Council
May 21, 1998
Page 2
♦ likely that Ultimate Golf, Tierney's Liquor, and the Pawn Shop would be relocated
outside of the immediate redevelopment area.
♦ I have contacted the prospective, new owner of the car wash property south of County
Road C along Rice Street. I am inquiring as to his interest in selling this property as a
site to house one or all of the remaining businesses. I hope to have more information on
this option for Wednesday's meeting.
In a related matter, the Cardinals have executed our agreement whereby we will reappraise the
property and they agree to sell at the new appraised price as long as it is not less than $102,000.
The appraisal process is underway and we would look to close on this property before the end of
June. I have made it very clear that they would not be eligible for relocation benefits in this
situation given the fact that the redevelopment project is not imminent.
I am also still awaiting word on the updated appraisal for the Guerin property. The City
Attorney will be prepared to discuss this under his topic.
Should you have any comments or questions in the meantime, please let me know.
JRH:kpv
cc: Kim Wise
Chris Moarn
Page 40
