The Director replied that it depends on the
area, noting that Rondeau Park sees the most.
Sanders suggested that different concepts be put together that include
traditional swings, a climbing /rock wall, the modernistic play structure,
and some sort of shade structure.
Maida noted that one of the playgrounds he visited had a lot of moving
elements in the playground structure. Marc indicated that kids like
moving objects. He also indicated that he and his friends liked carousels.
Slain asked how long the canvas shade structures last. Sanders estimated
the life of the canvas at 5 to 10 years.
Maida noted that some of the playgrounds had both sand and wood fiber
ground covering.
