The
Planning Commission discussed some of this material earlier in October, passing it on
to the City Council for consideration. Following that meeting, staff has continued to
examine issues and enforcement practices and developed an alternative method for
regulating and presenting the City's requirements.
The table lays out the various classes of vehicles, equipment, and materials commonly
encountered on residential property, cross - referencing them with the various locations
on property where each class of items may be kept, and under what conditions.
Accompanying this table would be one or more diagrams that would illustrate the
locations and requirements identified in the chart.
The table generally reflects the current ordinance, however, one of the issues with
current ordinance text is that it is sometimes less than clear how certain parking and /or
storage allowances should be applied, given the variety of code sections that may
apply. These include text in Accessory Buildings and Uses, General Performance
Standards for Outdoor Storage, Parking Regulations, and occasionally, the applicable
zoning district.
1
