Mayor & City Council
August 8, 1997
Page 2
(It does appear that Little Canada has received the greatest negative impact from this situation as
other communities appear to have more excess mileage available to address this situation.) A
proposal being evaluated is to not force a city to revoke any current MSA designations in
accepting a turn-back of roadway. This would mean we would only get the roadway at 80% of
the mileage, but would not have to revoke any existing designations. I would find this solution
acceptable.
Irrespective of the ongoing MSA debate, I would recommend we adopt the attached resolution
accepting the turn-backs of LaBore Road and McMenemy Street as proposed. I will continue to
work on the larger MSA issue.
JRH:kpv
Enclosure
Page 136
