Alternative 3 - We need to more fully investigate whether
association with a larger Historical Society, with a room
dedicated to Little Canada, is feasible or not. Personally, I do
not favor this option since we lose our individual identity and
potentially the enthusiasm and support of our local organization.
However, we need to know whether or not it is even possible to
associate with another existing historical society and what
consideration would be given to our individuality.
Alternative 4 - Continue to operate as we currently are with the
Historical Society until we are able to fund at least 75% of the
cost of the addition through grants and donations.
Joel, please coordinate an investigation of these alternatives so
that they can be considered by the Counicl prior to any final
decision.
cc: City Council
Jean Donovan, Historical Society
Steve Garske
Jean,
Could the Historical Society consider these alternatives,
especially Alternative 1 involving display cases, interior
redesign of the Council Chambers, budget amount necessary to pay
the cost of moving artifacts, etc. Please provide your input, if
possible, in writing. Thanks.
Page 8
