Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
Since the City of Little Canada has restricted parking on Sylvan Street, we have received a
number of complaints from residents of your complex indicating that they did not have adequate
on -site parking. Some have indicated they have had to have guests park over two blocks away
which has caused them concerns in terms of convenience and safety. While it is obvious that
your complex was built in accordance with city codes, I would respectfully request that you
evaluate the possibility of adding more parking spaces on the west side of your buildings. On a
drive -by inspection, it appeared that you could accommodate three to four spaces on the south
portion of each lot in front of the majority of the buildings.
Could you please evaluate this and let me know your position on the matter. It is unlikely that
the City Council will change its position on the parking restrictions and I am sure your residents
would appreciate any additional spaces that may be possible.
Thanks for your consideration of my request.
Sincerely,
Joel R. Hanson
City Administrator
JRH:kpv
cc: Mayor & City Council
Scott Tangen, Public Works Director
Page 105
