MINU'1'LS <br />TEXT <br />AMENDMENT <br />RELATIVE TO <br />COMMERCIAL <br />ANTENNAES- <br />U.S. WEST <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PLANNING COMIVIISSION <br />L1'11'LE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />NOVEMBER 13, 1997 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the Planning <br />Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 13 <br />day of November, 1997 in the Council Chambers of the City Center <br />located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Chairman Gene DeLonais called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. and the <br />following members of the Commission were present at roll call: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Mr. Gene DeLonais <br />Mr. Scott Barraciough <br />Mr. Dennis Carson <br />Mr. John Keis <br />Mr. Dan Knudsen <br />Mr. Rick Montour <br />Mr. Fred Schletty <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Steve Grittman, City Planner <br />Mrs. Kathy Glanzer, Deputy Clerk <br />There being no corrections, the minutes of the October 9, 1997 regular <br />meeting of the Planning commission are approved as submitted. <br />Pat Conlin, U.S. West, appeared before the Commission requesting <br />approval of a text amendment to the Zoning Code which would allow <br />commercial antennae on existing public utility structures and associated <br />utility buildings to house equipment package within all zoning districts. <br />Conlin reported that U.S. West is in the process of building out a digital <br />PCS system and divesting itself of its analog system. They are entering <br />into negotiations with NSP to place antennae on existing high- tension <br />transmission towers given the fact that cities are limiting new tower <br />placement. Conlin reported that U.S. West has asked that the Zoning <br />Code allow this placement by administrative review. The City Planner has <br />recommended processing by Conditional Use Permit as well as other <br />recommendations as outlined in his report dated October 6, 1997. Conlin <br />reported that U.S. West is agreeable to the recommendations of the City <br />Planner. <br />Page 35 <br />
