PROFE$,SIONAlo DEVEIQPMENT, The City will budget and pay the <br />travel and subsistence expenses of Tangen for professional and <br />official travel for meetings and occasions adequate to continue <br />the professional development of Tangen and to adequately pursue <br />necessary official and other committees thereof which employee <br />serves as a Member. Tangen will use good judgement in his <br />outside activities, so he will not neglect his primary duties to <br />the City. <br />The city also will budget for and pay the travel and subsistence <br />expenses of Tangen for short courses, or seminars necessary for <br />his professional growth and for the good of the City, as approved <br />by the City Administrator. <br />10• TERM /EATION AND SEVERANCE_PAY, In the event that Tangen is <br />terminated by the City during such time that Tangen is Willing <br />and able to perform the duties of Public Works Director, then in <br />that event, the city will pay Tangen a lump sum cash payment <br />equal to one month of aggregate salary if termination occurs <br />within the first three years of employment with the City. <br />Payment of the severance benefit is conditioned upon Tangen's <br />execution of a full release, in a form that is acceptable to the <br />City, of any and all claims arising out of his employment <br />relationship with the city. Any severance payments will be made <br />without a matching deferred compensation payment from the City. <br />In addition to said severance pay, Tangen shall be paid for any <br />4 <br />Page 7 <br />
