13. Building Official shall not be required, but may be <br />requested from time to time, to attend Little Canada City Council <br />meetings. Building Official shall attend preconstruction meetings <br />for commercial and residential projects as needed. <br />14. City shall, if requested by Building Official, provide <br />input from its fire department, police service provider, public <br />works superintendent, planning consultant, and other staff members <br />as appropriate to each building permit application. <br />15. Building Official shall have the exclusive initial <br />authority to determine interpretations and applications of the <br />building code to projects within the City. Notwithstanding the <br />foregoing, Building Official shall confer with the City <br />Administrator of City before issuing any such interpretations and <br />applications of the building code which might have an extraordinary <br />significant effect on projects within the City. Building Official <br />shall also have the right and responsibility to issue stop orders <br />and citations on violations of the building code on any project <br />determined not to be in compliance with the terms and provisions of <br />the building code. Enforcement and prosection of the building code <br />requirements by way of judicial action for either criminal or civil <br />sanction shall remain the exclusive responsibility of City. <br />Building Official shall cooperate in any enforcement procedures. <br />16. Upon completion of all building inspections associated <br />with any specific permit, Building Official shall file the original <br />inspection records along with the plans with the City. All such <br />plans shall be kept on file pursuant to State law. All such <br />original records shall remain the exclusive property of City. <br />II. SCHEDULE OF FEES AND CHARGES <br />1. Fees and charges shall be collected by City from the <br />applicant upon issuance of the building permit. <br />2. The valuation of a permit structure for purposes shall be <br />determined by Building Official and shall be calculated by <br />multiplying the square foot area of the proposed structure times the <br />building valuation factor as published annually by the Building <br />Codes and Standards Division of the State of Minnesota Department of <br />Administration. The building permit fee shall be computed using the <br />fee schedule listed in the current edition of the Uniform Building <br />Code as adopted by the State of Minnesota. Fees for plumbing <br />permits shall be established by resolution of the City Council. <br />3. The fees and charges set forth on Exhibit "A" are <br />exclusive of fees and charges required by the State of Minnesota for <br />electrical permits and inspections. <br />4. A reinspection fee may be assessed for each inspection or <br />reinspection when a portion of work for which inspection is called <br />-3- <br />Page 111 <br />
