MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />APRIL 12, 2006 <br />in a safety presentation at the complex ChaC was put on by the Sheriff's <br />Department and the Fire Department. <br />The next Action Plan reviewed was "Explore Capitol View Site <br />Development Options". The City Administrator noted the two sites that <br />may be available for redevelopment, one owned by NE Metro School <br />District 916 and the other by Roseville School District 623. The <br />Administrator indicated Che first step would be to determine whether the <br />sites are available. Once availability is know, the next step would be to <br />discuss with St. Jude their potential interest in this property. <br />"Construct New Public Works Garage" was discussed. The City <br />Administrator anticipated more information on site availability in the next <br />4 to 6 weeks. Once that information is available, it may be possible to <br />focus in on a particular site. The City Clerk suggested that this Action <br />Plan give some consideration to tearing down the existing Public Works <br />Garage and sale of the vacant land in order to improve the redevelopment <br />opportunities along Country Drive. <br />The next Action Plan was "Aggressively Pursue )!unding for <br />Reconstruction of Rice Street Bridge over Highway 36". It was <br />reported that Representative Scalze has indicated Chat this project will not <br />be a part of Che bonding bill, but there may be turn-back dollars that can be <br />used for this project. The Administrator noted that the proposed park and <br />ride lot along County Road B at Rice Sheet has been put on hold until the <br />bridge reconstruction issue is resolved. <br />"Market the Twin Lake Land for Assisted Living Project" was <br />reviewed. The Administrator indicated that he is waiting for <br />environmental information that will be included in Che Request for <br />Proposals. He also suggested that an appraisal be done of this property <br />based on Che Chree potential uses of this site. This will give the City a <br />good idea on the value of the land and will assist in evaluating <br />development proposals. <br />The Action Plan for "Review Street Standards in Light of <br />Environmental Issues - NEMO Presentation" was revised. Montour <br />suggested that the evaluation of street standards include an evaluation on <br />surmountable curbing versus barrier curbing. <br />Council reviewed the Action Plan for "No Overnight Parking". The <br />Public Works Superintendent indicated that after the last two major <br />snowfalls there were approximately 12 cars on each side of the freeway <br />that were park on-street during the plowing operation.
