MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />AUGUST 1, 1996 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of <br />the Parks & Recreation Commission of the City of Little <br />Canada, Minnesota was held on the 1st day of August, 1996 in <br />the Council Chambers of the City Hall located at 515 East <br />Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Chair Karen Johnson presided and called the meeting to order <br />at 7:35 p.m. and the following members of the Commission were <br />present at roll call: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: <br />Ms. Karen Johnson, Chair <br />Ms. Pat Ables <br />Mr. Jim Greger <br />Mr. Troy Rajanen <br />Mr. Howard Remerowski <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: Mr. Tom Holm <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Jim Morelan, P & R Director <br />Ms. Mary Granley, Recording Secretary <br />MINUTES Ables moved that the minutes of the June 6, 1996 meeting be <br />approved as read. <br />Motion seconded by Greger. <br />Motion carried 5 - 0. <br />Johnson moved that the minutes of the July 9, 1996 meeting be <br />approved as read. <br />Motion seconded by Rajanen. <br />Motion carried 5 - 0. <br />REVIEW OF PARK Johnson asked if commission members had any changes they <br />MASTER PLAN would like to add to the Park Master Plan. Greger stated he <br />would like to see the option to make changes kept open, and <br />to have the ability to make changes in the future. <br />Morelan stated the City overall comprehensive plan must be <br />filed with the Metropolitan Council. Morelan explained that <br />our Park Master Plan is part of the comprehensive plan. He <br />stated several items in the Park Master Plan are out of date, <br />and his concern is whether an update would be justifiably <br />beneficial. Morelan indicated the trail plan, facilities in <br />parks and playgrounds have changed. <br />Johnson asked when the Park Master Plan would need to be <br />submitted. Morelan responded early this fall. Johnson <br />remarked the plan we submit should reflect an accurate <br />description of our facilities. <br />Page 117 <br />
