We do support a major public education and public information <br />program to inform people about alternatives disposal program as <br />mentioned on page 31. We believe however, since cities have <br />more direct communications with the residents than any other <br />level of government, cities should be represented on the <br />Technical Advisory Committee on Public Education as outlined'on <br />page 61. <br />6. We generally support the policies for solid waste management as <br />listed on pages 32 and 33. We do not carte blanche support <br />polices 2 and 3 at this point in time until we are more assured <br />that the markets will be developed and that provisions haVe� been <br />made to deal with the increased costs to the cities. <br />7. We are also concerned about the lack of criteria and guidelines <br />for siting transfer stations.
