MINUTES
Planning Commission
June 12, 1936
1
Barrett Mr. Dennis Barrett appeared before the Commission requesting the
Lot Split division of his property at LaBore Road and County Road D into
two parcels. Barrett reported that he was not opposed to removing
the existing garage on Lot A, but requested that it be allowed to
remain during construction of a new house on Lot A so that it can
be used for storage purposes.
The Planner felt that this request could be controlled with the
issuance of the occupancy permit.
Mr. Davison asked why the Planner was involved in this request
rather than the Building Inspector.
The Planner pointed out that the Building Inspector is recently
hired and due to this his office has been asked to act on sone
matters that normally the Building Inspector would take care of.
Herkenhoff asked if there were any problems with drainage or utility
easements.
The Planner reported that these would be shown on the survey and
explained to Mr. Barrett the easements that the City would require.
Mrs. Timmons recommended approval of the Barrett property division
and allowing the garage to remain on Parcel A for a period of
six months or until an occupancy permit is issued for the dwelling
on Lot A, whichever is sooner.
Motion seconded by Mr. Perlinger.
Motion carried 7 - 0.
Gardner Mr. Jim Gardner of Gardner Construction appeared before the Commission
Construction requesting concept approval and a conditional use permit for retail
sales and outdoor storage for a pr;posal to develop his property on
Centerville Road.
Gardner is proposing a two -story office building with warehousing
in the back of the building.
The Planner reported that under a conditional use permit, since
the proposed building is 20,000 square feet in size, 15,000 square
feet of outdoor storage could he allowed.
Gardner reported that his firm would be pre - manufacturing some
parts of their homes in the warehouse space. The office space
would contain personnel of the construction company as well at
a real estate company and sone other related companies.
Timmons asked what would be stored in the outdoor storage area.
Pane -4-
