MINUTES
Planning Commission
Dec. 11, 1926
Cellular
One (Cont.)
Mrs. Timmons questioned why the Planning Commission has not
received a copy of the site plan that Was requested at the
previous Commission meeting.
'"r. Oxley reported that on November 17 just after the Commission
meeting, he brought in copies of the Cellular One site plan that
the Commission requested. Oxley reported that accompanying the
site plan was a letter which listed a couple locations of towers
that the Commission could view. This had also been requested at
the November 13 Planning Commission meeting.
Mrs. Timmons expressed concern that this information was not
forwarded on the Commission after it was specifically requested
by the Commission.
At this point in the meeting the City Planner located the site
plans and cover letter in the office and passed them out to the
Commission members.
"r. Davison recommended approval of the proposed text amendment
amending Section 903.100 and 903.040 of the little Canada Municipal
Code, relating to the construction of essential services facilities.
motion seconded by Mr. I!erkenhoff.
Motion carried 6 - 0.
Mrs. Timmons asked if the Cellular One transmission building being
proposed could be rented out to another use.
max Thompson, representing Cellular One, replied that the equipment
that will be in the building is highly sensitive and no other use
would be allowed in the building. Also, the site plan is an exhibit
attached to the lease agreement with Donovan Construction and Cellular
One is hound by this lease agreement.
!1r. Costa asked the investment Cellular One will have in this facility.
Mr. Thompson replied that the proposal will cost between X300,000 and
5500,000.
Costa asked the tax benefit the City will derive from the facility.
The Planner replied that there will he little tax benefit, however,
the City will benefit in increased communication capability.
')r. Thompson also pointed out that the facility will benefit
emergency services.
Pane -5-
