Minutes <br />City Council <br />(Cont'd.) <br />October 11, 1978 <br />Metal <br />Detector <br />City Center <br />Water <br />Hook -up <br />Fire Dept. <br />Water <br />Hook -up <br />Mr. DeBace introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 78 -10 -382 - CALLING FUj THE ADVERTISEMENT <br />FOR BIDS FOR THE PROPOSED MAINTENANCE GARAGE WITH THE SIZE <br />OF THE MAINTENANCE GARAGE REDUCED AND THE COST OF EXCAVATION <br />INCLUDED IN THE BIDS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded <br />Ayes (l1) ressrs. DeBace, Jespersen, Nadeau <br />Nayes (1) Mr. Valento. <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book <br />by Mr. Jespersen. <br />and Hanson. <br />No. li, Page 304. <br />Mr. DeBace reported that the Maintenance Department requested to <br />purchase a metal detector. <br />Mr. DeBace introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 78 -10 -383 - AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE <br />OF A METAL DETECTOR IN THE AMOUNT OF $433.21 <br />The foregoing resolution -was duly seconded by Fir. Jespersen. <br />Ayes (5) Messrs. DeBace, Jespersen, Hanson, Nadeau and Valento. <br />Nayes (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 4, Page 305. <br />Mr. <br />and <br />the <br />Mr. <br />DeBace reported that the City intends to hook up to City water <br />has received bids for the cost of hooking up. Nir. Ryan submitted <br />lowest bid in the amount of Ss175.00. <br />DeBace introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 78 -10 -384 - ACCEPTING THE BID <br />FROM MR. RYAN IN THE AMOUNT OF $175.00 TO HOOK <br />UP THE CITY CENTER TO CITY WATER <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Hanson. <br />Ayes (5) Messrs. DeBace, Hanson, Nadeau, Valento and Jespersen. <br />Nayes (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 4, Page 305. <br />Mr. DeBace reported that the Fire Department has requested to <br />hook up to City water. However, they have asked not to be <br />charged for the water. Council felt that since the Fire Department <br />received their budget from the City, if they were charged for water <br />they would just increase their budget and get the money from the <br />City. Therefore, Council felt they wouldn't charge the Fire Department <br />for water. However, the water should be metered to know how much <br />the Fire Department uses. <br />Page -11- <br />
