MINUTES OF COMPREHENSIVE PLAN PUBLIC MEETING
LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA
July 26, 1978
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a special meeting was held on the
26th day of July, 1978 at Kellogg High School, Little Canada, Minnesota to
review and receive comments pertaining to the Little Canada Comprehensive
Plan.
City Council Members Present:
Planning Commission Members Present:
Councilman Mr. Raymond Hanson
Councilman Mr. Robert DeBace
Councilman Mr. Morris Jespersen
City Clerk
secrretary
Midwest
Planning &
Research
Mr. Gene DeLonais
Mr. Earl Rossey
Mr. Mike Fahey
Mrs. Virginia Fisher
Mr. Ralph Nardini
Mr. Dick Boss
Mr. Pete Costa
Mr. Jack Radford
Dr. Tom Keenan
Mr. Joseph Chlebeck
Mrs. Kathleen Glanzer
Mr. Brad Nielsen
Mr. Brad Nielsen, Midwest Planning & Research, went through the Little
Canada Comprehensive Plan explaining in detail the process that Midwest
Planning & Research went through to develop the Plan and finally Mr. Nielsen
explained the Plan itself.
The Planning Districts which were subject to discussion were Districts 1,
2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8.
The floor was opened for questions on a District by Dittrict basis.
District 1 - One citizen was concerned how the zoning of District 1 would
apply to the ditch that runs through this planning district.
Mr. Nielsen explained that this ditch was City owned and no
building could take place on this ditch, therefore, there need
be no concern about the zoning and how it applies to the ditch.
District 2 - There were no questions from the floor on District 2.
District 3 - One citizen commented that District 3's R -1 zoning was satisfactory.
That citizen was concerned that trailor courts might expand from
adjoining Vadnais Heights into Little Canada in District 3. Mr.
Nielsen assured the party that as long as the zoning remained R -1
trailor courts could not be allowed.
District 4 Mr. Richard Boss expressed his concern with the traffic on Little
Canada Road. He also felt that So. Owasso Blvd. should be a
collector and thus relieve some of the traffic on Little Canada
Road. Mr. Nielsen stated that the plan does call for So. Osasso
Blvd. to be considered a collector.
l
18
