CITY OF
LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
The decision on whether a request will be granted rests with the Little Canada City
Council. In order to expedite this decision, R is recommended that an applicant
read this procedural guide which outlines the formal steps which will be taken in
the review of the request.
It is stressed that no commitment as to approval or denial should be interpreted from
any discussion with the administrative officers of the City. The Planning Commission's
decision on approval or denial k also not a final commitment. The Planning Commission
is also advisory to the City Council and does not make the final determination on the
request.
I. Pre - Application: The potential applicant should first discuss his situation with
the City Clerk to determine what if any applications have to be filed. If
questions remain unresolved after this discussion, the Attorney, Engineer and /or
Planner should be consulted. From these discussions, the applicant should gain
a clear understanding of what request is to be filed, why a request is needed
and what information should be supplied.
If the applicant so desires, he may schedule a preliminary appearance before
the Planning Commission prior to filing a formal request in order to gain a
preliminary reaction to the proposal. In order to schedule such a discussion,
a written request for presentation and discussion, which also generally describes
the proposal, must be received by the City Clerk ten (10) days prior to the
meeting at which the matter will be addressed by the Planning Commission. The
City Clerk will provide copies of the request to the Planning Commission no later
than seven (7) days prior to the next meeting. (It is emphasized that the
request deadline is strictly enforced and no exceptions are granted.)
II. Application: An application for a request should be filed with the City Clerk on
an official application form and the filing fee is paid. The request must
be filed at least ten (10) days before the date of the Planning Commission meeting
if the request is to be considered at that meeting.
III. Fee: (to be added)
