MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />FEBRUARY 22, 2006 <br />BEACH The Public Works Superintendent reviewed his report dated February <br />SAND 17, 2006 relative to the installation of a beach sand blanket at 3339 Twin <br />BLANKET- Lake Court. The Superintendent reported that he has reviewed the <br />3339 TWIN installation with the DNR who have indicated that it is acceptable. <br />LAKE The Superintendent reported that in discussing this installation further <br />COURT with the City Planner, given Che classification of Twin Lake, the beach <br /> sand blanket meets the intent of the City's ordinance. Therefore, the <br /> Superintendent recommended approval subject to the property owner <br /> obtaining a grading permit and abides by the DNR's recommendations. <br />Mr. Keis introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2006-2-47 -APPROVING THE BEACH SAND <br />BLANKET FOR 339 TWIN LAKE COURT SUBJECT TO <br />COMPLIANCE WITH THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE PUBLIC <br />WORKS SUPERINTENDENT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />PURCHASE The City Administrator reviewed the Parks & Rec Director's report <br />OF MOWER/ dated February 17, 2006 recommending the purchase of a large area <br />SWEEPER mower from Turfwerks in the amount of $42,940 to replace the 1999 <br />mower. The Director is also recommending that the 1999 mower be <br />converted to a sweeper to be used at the skating rinks. That conversion <br />would require the purchase of an M-B 6-foot broom to be mounted on the <br />mower. Cost of the conversion is $6,974. We are also foregoing about <br />$3,700 in trade-in cost for the existing mower. <br />Ms. Allan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2006-2-48 -APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF A <br />TURFWERKS MOWER IN THE AMOUNT OF $42,940 AS WELL AS <br />THE CONVERSION OF 1999 MOWER TO A SWEEPER AT A COST <br />OF $6,974 AS RECOMMENDED BY THE PARKS AND <br />RECREATION DIRECTOR <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0).
