MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />FEBRUARY 22, 2006 <br />The Administrator noted that in addition to the townoffices proposed for <br />the majority of the site, Chere are two warehouse buildings with some <br />outdoor storage proposed near the back. The Administrator felt the use <br />worked given the adjacent properties that this site backs up to. The <br />Administrator indicated that he will keep the Council updated on the <br />progress with this redevelopment concept. <br />McDONALD'S The City Administrator reported that McDonald's is considering a tear <br />down and rebuild of their Rice StreeC restaurant in LitCle Canada. In <br />discussing the issue with representatives of McDonald's, the <br />Administrator reported that he suggested a redevelopment concept that <br />absorbed the Oasis Stafron property and rerouted Viking Drive to <br />Minnesota Street, eliminating one connection to Rice Street. The <br />Administrator indicated that McDonald's seemed interested in the concept <br />and indicated that they would discuss it with the owners of the <br />McDonald's. The Administrator suggested that he contact the County to <br />determine their interest in this concept given the Rice Street bridge <br />reconstruction and the benefit of eliminating the Viking Drive connection <br />to Rice Street. Council agreed. <br />TWIN LAKE The Administrator noted Chat at The recent goal setting session the concept <br />BLVD. of developing an assisted living complex on the City's Twin Lake Blvd. <br />PROPERTY property was raised. The Administrator reported that he is ready to put out <br />RFP's for the development of this site, and suggested that he include the <br />assisted living use as part of the RFP packet. <br />The Council agreed. Blesener suggested that if an assisted living proposal <br />is submitted, the use would be brought back to the neighborhood for their <br />comment. <br />RICE/ The City Administrator reported that the County Board has passed a <br />HIGHWAY resolution relative to the proposed park and ride lot at Highway 36 and <br />36 - Rice Street and the coordination of that project with the Rice Street <br />PARK & bridge improvement. Additionally, St. Jude Medical is also working <br />RIDE LOT on this issue, as is Representative Bev Scalze. The Administrator reported <br /> that Representative Scalze is working to stop the park and ride lot from <br /> proceeding until the Rice Street bridge improvement is designed. <br />MULTI- The City Administrator reported that a meeting was held Coday with <br />FAMILY the ownership of Montreal Courts apartments, the Ramsey County <br />HOUSING Sheriff's Department and representatives of the City on the issue of crime <br />control at the apartment complex.
