New General Office Number 291-6359 <br />Public Information 291 -6464 <br />April 2, 1976 <br />ACTIONS LAST WEEK (March 29 -April 2) <br />COMMITTEES OF THE COUNCIL <br />The Physical Development Committee recommended <br />that a bridge replacement in Hollywood Township is <br />consistent with metropolitan policies. It discussed <br />but deferred action on exit ramp construction <br />proposed at 194 and Mounds Blvd. in St. Paul. <br />The Committee also reviewed the Independence <br />comprehensive plan, but deferred its recommendation <br />so the report could be reworded. <br />It discussed setting up a task force to assist in <br />the study of fusty developed areas the Council is <br />conducting this year, and listened to a presentation <br />on light rail transit. <br />The Committee also reviewed staff- prepared <br />comments on the Metropolitan Waste Control <br />Commission Development Program. The Council's <br />comments will be part of the subject matter for the <br />May 6 public hearing (see below). <br />COUNCIL VACANCY <br />.Alice Kreber, a Metropolitan Council member since <br />the summer of 1973, announced this week that she is <br />resigning effective May 1. Mrs. Kreber represents <br />Council District 10, which includes Crustal, New Hope, <br />Sc. Louis Park. and part of Golden Vaiiev- The Krebers <br />are moving out of the Twin Cities Area. <br />REVIEW OF METROPOLITAN WASTE <br />CONTROL COMMISSION DEVELOPMENT <br />PROGRAM. <br />The Council viii hold , puutic hearing on the <br />MR.
