New General Office Number 291-6359 Public Information 291 -6464 April 2, 1976 ACTIONS LAST WEEK (March 29 -April 2) COMMITTEES OF THE COUNCIL The Physical Development Committee recommended that a bridge replacement in Hollywood Township is consistent with metropolitan policies. It discussed but deferred action on exit ramp construction proposed at 194 and Mounds Blvd. in St. Paul. The Committee also reviewed the Independence comprehensive plan, but deferred its recommendation so the report could be reworded. It discussed setting up a task force to assist in the study of fusty developed areas the Council is conducting this year, and listened to a presentation on light rail transit. The Committee also reviewed staff- prepared comments on the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission Development Program. The Council's comments will be part of the subject matter for the May 6 public hearing (see below). COUNCIL VACANCY .Alice Kreber, a Metropolitan Council member since the summer of 1973, announced this week that she is resigning effective May 1. Mrs. Kreber represents Council District 10, which includes Crustal, New Hope, Sc. Louis Park. and part of Golden Vaiiev- The Krebers are moving out of the Twin Cities Area.
