MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
SEPTEMBER 27, 2006
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener.
Ayes (5).
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
The Council discussed the issue of license renewals, noting that if the
licenses are not renewed, Mr. Sedaghat would not be able to repair and
sell his vehicles. Allan pointed out that Mr. Sedaghat could call a salvage
yard to dispose of the vehicles.
The City AtCOrney noted Chat the Conditional Use Permits are for outdoor
storage of vehicles and for an auto sales license. Revocation of those
Conditional Use Permits results in Mr. Sedaghat not being able to store
vehicles outdoors or hold an auto sales license.
Blesener noted that had the Council granted Sedaghat asix-month
extension of his CUP's, iC would just be dealing with the same problems in
six months. Sedaghat stated that if the Council would work with him, he
would put an end to the problems.
Allan pointed ouC that Sedaghat could sell his business to someone who
would tend to it. Montour noted that he could move the business to
another City. He pointed out that if an extension were granted, there
would be no progress on the property over the winter. Allan agreed. It
was noted that Sedaghat could have had this property in compliance by
moving the vehicles out of the City.
Sedaghat replied that he never thoughC of it and thought he would be able
to hire employees to repair the vehicles. Sedaghat apologized and asked
for a six months extension.
Mr. Blesener inhroduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2006-9-222 -DECLARING THAT THE CITY OF
LITTLE CANADA WILL NOT RENEW THE AUTO SALES LICENSE
AND THE AUTO REPAIR LICENSE FOR MR. FRED SEDAGHAT,
VALOR ENTERPRISES, AND THAT THE CURRENT LICENSES
EXPIRE ON MIDNIGHT ON SEPTEMBER 27, 2006
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Allan.
Ayes (3)
Nays (2) Montour and Keis.
