MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />SEPTEMBER 27, 2006 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2006-9-225 -AMENDING CHAPTER 903.020.T. <br />OF THE LITTLE CANADA CITY CODE, KNOWN AS THE ZONING <br />CODE, BY PROVIDING FOR BUILDING MATERIALS , <br />STANDARDS IN THE I-I, LIGHT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Mr. Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO.2006-9-226 -RESCINDING THE MORATORIUM <br />ON ISSUANCE OP BUILDING PERMITS FOR CERTAIN TYPES <br />OF BUILDINGS IN THE I-I DISTRICT UPON PUBLICATION OF <br />THE ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENT UPGRANDING <br />BUILDNG MATERIAL STANDARDS IN THAT DISTRICT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />EXTENSION Mayor Blesener opened the Public Hearing to consider extension of the <br />Or moratorium on the issuance of advertising signs adjacent to the right-of- <br />MORATORIUM way of an Interstate or trunk highway. <br />ON THE <br />ISSUANCE OF The City Attorney presented the proposed moratorium extension <br />CERTAIN ordinance, noting that State Law requires that a public hearing be held <br />ADVERTISING in order to extend a moratorium. That extension should also be <br />SIGNS accompanied by findings of fact as to why the moratorium needs to remain <br />in place. <br />The City Administrator reported that the League of Minnesota Cities has <br />been working to prepare a draft ordinance addressing this issue given its <br />State-wide impact. This drafC ordinance should be ready soon, and will <br />then be forwarded to cities for their consideration. <br />There was no one from the general public present wishing to comment on <br />this matter. <br />Upon motion by Montour, seconded by Keis, the public hearing was <br />closed. <br />18 <br />
