MINUTES CITY COUNCIL MAY 10, 2006 USE OF E-MAIL TO COMMUNICATE WITH CITIZENS improvement and Che cost assessed back Co RCC. That cost would include the cost of the easement as part of the project costs. The City Administrator noted that it is staff's hope Chat the first Cwo options will resolve the drainage problems and it will not be necessary to modify the storm sewer system. Mr. Keis introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 200-5-III -APPROVING OPTIONS I AND 2 IN ADDRESSING DRAINAGE PROBLEMS AT RESOURCES FOR CHILD CARING AS RECOMMENDED BY THE CITY ENGINEER AND PUBLIC WORKS SUPERINTENDENT SUBJECT TO DEDICATION OF THE NECESSARY EASEMENTS BY RCC AT NO COST TO THE CITY The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Allan. Ayes (3). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. The Council reviewed the Web Master's report dated May 4, 2006 relative to the increased use of e-mail to communicate with citizens. The City Administrator reported that City staff has already implemented some additional communications features such as the use of e-mail lists for agenda, minutes, newsletters, and job openings. Links have also been Added to the web site to inform people of these lists. An additional feature that is available through the web site provider, Govoffice, wou]d be e-mail updates to those signing up for the service. The Administrator noted the cost associated with this service. The Counci] discussed the options and the general consensus was to gauge the interest in the newly implemented features before proceeding with the e-mail update feature. These new features will be promoted and if demand increases, the Council will revisit the e-mail broadcast option at some time in the future. AWARD BID The City Adminisri~ator reviewed the City Engineer's report dated May FOR 2006 6, 2006 relative to bids for 2006 sidewalk improvements which include: SIDEWALK a sidewalk around the Market Place Pond, a sidewalk on a portion of IMPROVEMENTS Little Canada Road, and a sidewalk on Country Drive from Little Canada Road to the Water Works property. The low bid was received from O'Malley Construction in Che amounC of $80,990.23.
