MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MAY 10, 2006 <br />USE OF <br />E-MAIL TO <br />COMMUNICATE <br />WITH <br />CITIZENS <br />improvement and Che cost assessed back Co RCC. That cost would include <br />the cost of the easement as part of the project costs. <br />The City Administrator noted that it is staff's hope Chat the first Cwo <br />options will resolve the drainage problems and it will not be necessary to <br />modify the storm sewer system. <br />Mr. Keis introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 200-5-III -APPROVING OPTIONS I AND 2 IN <br />ADDRESSING DRAINAGE PROBLEMS AT RESOURCES FOR <br />CHILD CARING AS RECOMMENDED BY THE CITY ENGINEER <br />AND PUBLIC WORKS SUPERINTENDENT SUBJECT TO <br />DEDICATION OF THE NECESSARY EASEMENTS BY RCC AT NO <br />COST TO THE CITY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Allan. <br />Ayes (3). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />The Council reviewed the Web Master's report dated May 4, 2006 <br />relative to the increased use of e-mail to communicate with citizens. <br />The City Administrator reported that City staff has already implemented <br />some additional communications features such as the use of e-mail lists <br />for agenda, minutes, newsletters, and job openings. Links have also been <br />Added to the web site to inform people of these lists. An additional <br />feature that is available through the web site provider, Govoffice, wou]d <br />be e-mail updates to those signing up for the service. The Administrator <br />noted the cost associated with this service. <br />The Counci] discussed the options and the general consensus was to gauge <br />the interest in the newly implemented features before proceeding with the <br />e-mail update feature. These new features will be promoted and if <br />demand increases, the Council will revisit the e-mail broadcast option at <br />some time in the future. <br />AWARD BID The City Adminisri~ator reviewed the City Engineer's report dated May <br />FOR 2006 6, 2006 relative to bids for 2006 sidewalk improvements which include: <br />SIDEWALK a sidewalk around the Market Place Pond, a sidewalk on a portion of <br />IMPROVEMENTS Little Canada Road, and a sidewalk on Country Drive from Little Canada <br />Road to the Water Works property. The low bid was received from <br />O'Malley Construction in Che amounC of $80,990.23. <br />
