MIIA: 1 ES <br />City Council <br />(Cont'd.) <br />January 24, 1979 <br />Planning <br />District #r1 <br />Planning <br />District #2 <br />Mr. Licht began his presentation of the Comprehensive Plan with <br />the Transportation and Community Facilities Plan. The major change <br />that came about due to the public hearings was developing County Road <br />D as a major arterial to Maplewood Mall. Also Spooner Park was <br />indicated as the City's major park, with the suggestion of small <br />neighborhood parks and a trail system for the City be developed. <br />For planning purposes, Mr. Licht stated that Midwest Planning and <br />Research split the City up into 24 planning districts. Mr. Licht <br />then proceeded to present to Council each Planning District and <br />Midwest's recommendations for these districts. Council also referred <br />to the Planning Commission's recommendations on each of the Planning <br />Districts. <br />Nir. Licht stated that it was the conclusion of Midwest Planning that <br />the present zoning in District #1 not be changed, but that there should <br />be some screening and landscaping done in the area. The Planning <br />Commission recommended the Planner's suggestions be endorsed by Council. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 79 -1 -36 - APPROVING PLANNING DISTRICT #1 <br />OF THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AS PROPOSED BY THE PLANNER AND <br />AS APPROVED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, Nadeau, DeBace, Hanson and <br />Nayes (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book <br />by Mr. Nadeau. <br />Scalze. <br />No. 5, Page 20. <br />Mr. Licht recommended that the zoning in District #2 remain as is. <br />The Planning Commission endorsed this recommendation. <br />Mr. DeBace introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 79 -1 -37 - APPROVING PLANNING DISTRICT #2 <br />OF THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AS PROPOSED BY THE PLAINER AND <br />AS APPROVED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs. Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) DeBace, Scalze, Hanson, Nadeau and Fahey. <br />Nayes (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. e 21. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 5, Page <br />
