MINUTES <br />City Council <br />(Gontrd.) <br />January 24, 1972 <br />Planning <br />District > #6 <br />Planning <br />District #f7 <br />Planning <br />District #116 <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 79 -1 -40 - DECLARING THAT THE PROPERTY <br />IN PLANNING DISTRICT 5 PROPOSED AS B-2 ZONING BE SO AND <br />THE REMAINING PROPERTY OF PLANNING DISTRICT #5 BE PROPOSED <br />AS R -1 WITH THE UNDERSTANDING THAT THE HOMES WEST OF CONDUIT <br />STREET COULD BE DESIGNATED RB ZONING, WITH THE CONDITION <br />THAT THEY COULD NOT BE DEVELOPED COMMERCIALLY UNTIL THE <br />ENTIRE PORTION OF B -2 PROPERTY WAS COMMERCIALLY DEVELOPED <br />BY REQUEST' OF THE PROPER'T'Y OWNERS WEST OF CONDUIT STREET <br />ONE TIER OF LOTS BACK <br />The forgoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Nadeau. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, Nadeau, Scalze, Hanson and DeBace. <br />Nayes (0). <br />This resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 5, Pages 22 and 23. <br />Councilmembers decided to hold over discussion of Planning District #6 <br />until a later date. <br />Mr. Licht stated that Midwest Planning is suggesting R -3 zoning <br />for Planning District ; }7 which is currently zoned I -1. There are <br />poor soil conditions in this area. Licht is suggesting mid- density <br />type of residential housing in District ;17. The Planning <br />Commission endorsed the recommendations of the Planner in District # #7. <br />Councilman DeBace did not feel the people in District 7 wanted zoning changed. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 79 -1 -41 - APPROVING PLANNING DISTRICT # #7 <br />OF' 'T'HE COI âś“iPRGHEN IVE PLAN AS PROPOSED BY THE PLANNER AND <br />AS APPROVED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs. Scalze. <br />Ayes (4) Fahey, Scalze Nadeau and Hanson. <br />Nayes (1) Mr. DeBace. <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 5, Page 23. <br />The Planner proposed that the zoning of District #116, specifically the <br />area South of Round Lake, be zoned as a PUD with a portion of property <br />south of Iona Lane to remain R -1 and that Iona Lane not be extended. <br />The Planning Commission approved the Planner's recommendations. <br />Mr. Licht presented to Council an example of how the area South of <br />Round Lake could be developed as a PUD. He also explained that Council <br />would have control over what developed in this area if the property was <br />zoned PUD. <br />Gloria Bjorklund, representing <br />Concerned Citizens, stated that she <br />objected to any business going into this area south of Round Lake. <br />8 <br />
