MINUTES <br />City Council. <br />(Cont'd.) <br />January 24, 1979 <br />There was also discussion by Council as to the classification of <br />Hound Lake by the DNR. This could effect any development in the area. <br />Councilman DeBace stated that he objected to the upgrading of any <br />currently zoned R -1 property in this area. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 79 -1 -42 - ACCEPTING THE PLANNERTS <br />RECOMMENDATION THAT THE AREA TO THE EAST OF IONA LANE AND <br />NORTH OF NEW COUNTY ROAD C BE DEVELOPED AS AN R -3 PUD AND <br />INCORPORATING PLANNING DISTRICT #16AMENDI'IENT SUBMITTED BY THE <br />PLANNER IN OCTOBER, 1978 WHICH WOULD REQUIRE THE DESIGNATION <br />OF AN R -1 RESIDENTIAL AREA ALONG IONA LANE AND THE BUFFERING <br />OF IONA LANE AND WITH THE SMALL TRIANGULAR PIECE OF PROPERTY <br />SOUTH OF COUNTY ROAD C BEING DESIGNATED AS R -1 WHICH LEAVES <br />THE REMAINING PORTION OF PLANNING DISTRICTT n16 R -1 WITH THE <br />EXCEPTION OF A SMALL B-1 AND B -2 AREA NEAR LITTLE CANADA ROAD <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Nadeau. <br />Ayes (4) Fahey, Nadeau, Scalze, and Hanson. <br />Nayes (1) Mr. DeBace. <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 5, Page 24. <br />Planning The Planner remarked that Planning District ,#8 was single family <br />District #8 residential, and he was recommending no zoning change. The Planning <br />Commission endorsed the recommendations of the Planner. <br />Planning <br />District #9 <br />Mayor Hanson stated that a lot of land in District Y/8 was agricultural <br />and could continue to be farmed under R -1 zoning. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION 49 -1 -43 - APPROVING PLANNING DISTRICT , #8 OF THE <br />COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AS PROPOSED BY THE PLANNER AND AS <br />APPROVED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. DeBace. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, DeBace, Hanson, Fahey and Nadeau. <br />Nayes (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 5, page 25. <br />The Planner proposed the elimination of the current PUD and B -2 zoning <br />in Planning District y9 and the rezoning of the entire district as R-2 <br />with the exception of the current BW zoning. The Planning Commission <br />approved the elimination of the PUD and B-2 zoning and leaving the <br />entire district R -1 with the exception of the current BW zoning. <br />
