MINUTES City Council. (Cont'd.) January 24, 1979 There was also discussion by Council as to the classification of Hound Lake by the DNR. This could effect any development in the area. Councilman DeBace stated that he objected to the upgrading of any currently zoned R -1 property in this area. Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 79 -1 -42 - ACCEPTING THE PLANNERTS RECOMMENDATION THAT THE AREA TO THE EAST OF IONA LANE AND NORTH OF NEW COUNTY ROAD C BE DEVELOPED AS AN R -3 PUD AND INCORPORATING PLANNING DISTRICT #16AMENDI'IENT SUBMITTED BY THE PLANNER IN OCTOBER, 1978 WHICH WOULD REQUIRE THE DESIGNATION OF AN R -1 RESIDENTIAL AREA ALONG IONA LANE AND THE BUFFERING OF IONA LANE AND WITH THE SMALL TRIANGULAR PIECE OF PROPERTY SOUTH OF COUNTY ROAD C BEING DESIGNATED AS R -1 WHICH LEAVES THE REMAINING PORTION OF PLANNING DISTRICTT n16 R -1 WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A SMALL B-1 AND B -2 AREA NEAR LITTLE CANADA ROAD The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Nadeau. Ayes (4) Fahey, Nadeau, Scalze, and Hanson. Nayes (1) Mr. DeBace. Resolution declared adopted. This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 5, Page 24. Planning The Planner remarked that Planning District ,#8 was single family District #8 residential, and he was recommending no zoning change. The Planning Commission endorsed the recommendations of the Planner. Planning District #9 Mayor Hanson stated that a lot of land in District Y/8 was agricultural and could continue to be farmed under R -1 zoning. Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION 49 -1 -43 - APPROVING PLANNING DISTRICT , #8 OF THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AS PROPOSED BY THE PLANNER AND AS APPROVED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. DeBace. Ayes (5) Scalze, DeBace, Hanson, Fahey and Nadeau. Nayes (0). Resolution declared adopted. This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 5, page 25. The Planner proposed the elimination of the current PUD and B -2 zoning in Planning District y9 and the rezoning of the entire district as R-2 with the exception of the current BW zoning. The Planning Commission approved the elimination of the PUD and B-2 zoning and leaving the entire district R -1 with the exception of the current BW zoning.
