Seconded by Tom Ducharme. notion carried 7 -0 The letter of resignation from Nr. Frank Winiecki was noted by the Planning Commission members. Should a public hearing be waived for granting variance? (Gee page 11, Section X22.020 (F) ). The Planning Commission members felt that a public hearing should definitely be held when granting a variance. i•otion made by Sharon Timmons to recommend to the council that public hearings hot be waived when granting variances. Seconded by Virginia Fisher. Motion carried 7 -0 Parking signs along Little Canada Rd. in front of old Little Canada School. Dennis Forsberg asked why No Parking signs had been erected in front of old Little Canada School. Dick Boss stated that the county had requested that signs be placed near Mci1enemy Road and Little Canada Rd., and when the county placed the signs, they put them where they used to be in front of old Little Canada school. He said that in 1969, the Little Canada Fire Dept., had requested that the no Parking signs be erected there, and since then, the signs had been torn down. He further stated that the city council is aware of the signs and will study the matter, and likely request that they be removed. Dennis Forsberg said that he is concerney.,,because of the lack of parking for Fire Dept. members. He also wondered if the parking lot at the old Little Canada school would not be available to Fire Dept. members if the school is sold to a private party who would not allow such parking.
